What our Clients Say

Andy Rouse

I have worked with Alan several times, including shooting the launch campaign for the Canon 1DX2 camera and the Park cameras winners weekend. He is professional, friendly, always delivers and genuinely cares that his clients get what they need, nothing is to much trouble for him. His business is located in a beautiful part of the world with great hotels and close to many nature reserves making it a great place to spend a few days with your camera. Thank you for a brilliant weekend at your hides, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you. I train people in how to deliver word class customer service and that is what you delivered this weekend. Your approachable, friendly attitude couple with your flexibility and professionalism was outstanding. It felt like we had known each other for years. Most importantly the genuine care you had for the animals you help us to observe through your hides and the passion you have for conservation shone through. Thank you, I will be back again without question.

I have known Alan for a number of years and first started with his Sparrowhawk hide. Since then I have used some of the other hides with more visits planned. Alan has put in a tremendous amount of work to establish his hides and set them up so that they are reliable and offer a very good chance to photograph the subjects. He has an in depth knowledge of his subjects and, as an accomplished photographer himself, he is able to organise the hides so that the photographic opportunities are superb. Some of these hides offer unique photographic experiences which are not available anywhere else in the UK. He is continually working to establish new hides with new subjects and some of these projects sound very exciting. I would not hesitate to recommend Alan’s hides and look forward to having more sessions myself.

Few gifted individuals have an almost instinctive affinity with the  Natural World which the rest of us struggle to attain. Alan is one of the chosen few and he has used his extensive knowledge & enthusiasm to establish a fantastic series of hides which allow others to share in these close encounters with nature.

I have known Alan for many years and one thing that I can say about him is that everything he does he puts his heart and soul into it.  His wildlife photography hides are the best you’ll find.  It is the attention to the smallest detail that make these hides stand out from the rest, his perches, hide design and attention to the light to name a few. Many iconic species that many people only dream about seeing can be photographed at close quarters. Remember these are all wild birds and animals that are not controlled in any way by a handler. His field craft skills are something that many wildlife photographers today just do not have or perhaps do not have the time to learn. His hides will allow you to photograph Sparrowhawk, Kingfisher, Cuckoo, Buzzard, Red squirrel, but to name a few which will allow you to  obtain that perfect portrait to hang on your wall.  Scotland does not start north of Glasgow, based in Dumfries and Galloway in the south-west of Scotland makes his hides very central and accessible to most of you.
